Development Issues.

Why are there development issues?

So, this issue would be that I locked myself out of windows, and didn't think to run a backup of my drive, so i lost all of my development code. The one out of few things that weren't backed up? >_Terminal's source code. As I've mentioned, and as I will mention again, >_Terminal is a passion project. This means that to do this, I would have to create a rewrite of the software.

So the question that would relate to this log.

Are you going to remake >_Terminal?

Short Version? No.  The longer version? Not at the moment. I recently underwent a little project with my friend group, and they want me to do some coding for them for some small python console apps, along with editing little analog horror videos. That, and the fact that I have college coming up in like 4 days. (1/8/24, for you people looking at this devlog in the future!) I do want to work on getting >_Terminal back and running, and hopefully even better than before.

Why not just work on a rewrite, and then leave development of story for later?

To be honest, I lost A LOT of my source code to some of my huge projects. Some I'm lucky to have open-source builds for, and can just grab my code and get back at it. However, losing a lot of code you worked hours on is not easy. This is why I have fully lost motivation recently for coding for the fun of it. I will end up pushing a devlog when the game is back in service, but as of right now, >_Terminal is currently on an indefinite pause. I want to thank anyone who gave the game a download (thank you random 1 person who tried it out, i see you in my stats!), and I promise that if it comes back up, I will notify as soon as I can.

Well, thats all I have to say. Appreciate you reading, whoever you are!

TL;DR: I wiped my drive with >_Terminal's source code, so the game is on an indefinite pause due to lack of motivation for a rewrite.

Get >_Terminal
